TODAY’S BIG IDEA: The Lord is Fighting For Me

In this powerful message from 1 Kings 18–19, Pastor Bill Russell walks through the incredible   story of Elijah on Mount Carmel and Mount Horeb, revealing how God fights for His people in both   public battles and private struggles. From fire falling on Mount Carmel to the still small voice in the   cave, this sermon points us ultimately to Jesus Christ and the victory of the Cross. If you’ve ever   felt exhausted, isolated, spiritually attacked, or emotionally overwhelmed, this message will remind   you that you are not fighting alone — the Lord is fighting for you.

Through Elijah’s confrontation with the prophets of Baal, we see a vivid picture of the Gospel: one   sacrifice, one victory, one Savior. But this sermon also shows the other side of Elijah’s story — the   loneliness, fear, and discouragement that followed even after a mountaintop victory. In a deeply   pastoral and encouraging way, Pastor Bill shows how God meets us not with anger or   condemnation, but with mercy, grace, and compassion. Even when God feels distant, His presence   is closer than we realize.

This sermon will encourage anyone battling fear, spiritual exhaustion, anxiety, shame, compromise,   or discouragement. Discover how Mount Carmel points to Mount Calvary, how the Cross secures   your victory, and why the still small voice of God still calls us out of the cave and back into hope today.
