Finding The Communion Within Communion
THE BIG IDEA:
I need to find myself in Communion.
In this message, we explore the essence of God.
We find the essence of God, of course, in creation.
Yet even more, the essence of God shows up,
as Christ is hanging on the cross.
It is a captivating picture, pitting the
beauty, wonder and splendor of the Creator,
with the ugliness, pain and destruction,
brought on by the sin of mankind.
We see this juxtaposition, most clearly
when we simply look to the cross.
There we see God in His goodness and glory,
while at the same time, we find ourselves,
consumed with our brokenness,
and lost in our sin.
This message reminds those of us in Christ,
to find ourselves at not only the
Communion table, but also deeply embedded
within the communion elements themselves.
