Dear
Family and Friends,
Greetings on a somewhat Sunny Friday! It is
of course Fatherʼs Day weekend. Do you
have special plans for
Fatherʼs Day? Hopefully you will find the time and a special way
to honor your dad. It seems that society and pop culture does so
much to tear down the
father figure today that we need to do all
we can to honor men for all that God has made
them to be. For
instance it is hard to find a sitcom on TV that shows the picture of
a
solid father figure these days. The other day I heard someone
on the radio make the
comparison between Motherʼs Day cards and
Fatherʼs Day cards. She (it was actually
a female psychologist)
said that while Motherʼs Day cards can be uplifting and honoring,
Fatherʼs Day card often are relegated to making fun of dad.
I
will be honoring the dads once again this Fatherʼs Day, with what I
believe is a very
timely message. The world we live in today is a
world of uncertainty! Weʼre not sure
what the future holds, when
we will make an economic recovery, and the direction of the
culture keeps spiraling downward. In the midst of all that the home
and family is under
constant attack. As dadʼs we need to be about
bringing a sense of security and a Spirit
of confidence to our
homes. Thus the message...
FATHER’S DAY 2011
Homeland
Security!
June 19, 2011, Pastor Bill Russell, 2 Chronicles 20
Using the example of Jehoshaphat, King of Judah from 2 Chronicles
20, we will see
what steps he used to bring confidence and
security to his own nation in a time of fear
and uncertainty. I
hope you can all make it to the service and bring along your dad!
Proverbs 14:26 HCSB
In the fear of the LORD one has strong
confidence and his children have a refuge.
‣ Be sure and
contact Dona or Betsy if you have any questions regarding VBS!
Weʼre expecting a BIG Year!

‣ There is also a signup sheet in the basement for mowing! There are
still a few
weeks left to fill if you are able to take one!
‣
The youth also still need a few donations for their trip to Kings
Island for Spirit

basement!
‣ Be looking for some VBS needed donations to be posted
soon as well.
You can pray for my folks as they are looking for a
place to live (rent) in the Zeeland/
Holland, Hudsonville,
Allendale area. They have rented out their homes in Alabama and
are moving back to Michigan in late July! My 2 brothers, my sister,
myself and our
families are all excited to say the least! There
may be a bidding war as to whose church
they will attend, but
rumor has it our church may have the upper hand. It must be
because I am the best looking! Donʼt tell my brothers and sister
though, because they
arenʼt aware, (that Iʼm the best looking
that is.)
Have a Grace-Full weekend,
Pastor Bill
